Abstrakt: Star and sprouted potato shaped Au-Ag bimetallic nanostructures have been synthesized using wet chemistry method. Efficient plasmon-active substrates using the synthesized nanostructures using a drop-casting method. The surface enhanced resonance Raman scattering (SERRS) spectra of single molecules of Methylene Blue adsorbed on the plasmonactive substrates have been recorded with high signal to noise ratio (S/N). Based on the S/N of the experimental SERRS spectra of single molecules, the SERRS detection limit of the fabricated substrates has been found to be well below the femto Molar (fM). We believe that the fabricated plasmon-active substrates would help the plasmonic community to study the Raman scattering of various single molecules in real-time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
