Sol-Gel Synthesis, Structural and Optical Properties of Pr3+- Activated Magnesium Germanate Phosphor.

Abstrakt: In the present work, we report the structural and optical properties of Pr3+ doped magnesium germanate phosphor. The sample was prepared by citric acid assisted sol-gel synthesis method followed by high temperature annealing. The phase of the prepared phosphor changed with increasing annealing temperature as seen from XRD pattern. FESEM image showed quasi-spherical particles with an average size 220 nm. Band gap energy and Urbach energy were estimated using UV-Vis DRS spectrum. The PL spectrum showed peaks in greenish blue and prominent peak in reddish orange region. The color coordinates was calculated to be in reddish orange region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
