Abstrakt: |
The structure, the deformation, and the fracture mechanisms of the trabecular bone tissue during a depressed fracture are studied. The compression of the bone trabeculae is shown to be accompanied by the separation of the organic matrix and the appearance of a large number of microcracks, which subsequently leads to the destruction of the trabeculae and the compaction of the bone tissue without breaking a specimen into fragments.
