Abstrakt: Background. In the Ukrainian language, in addition to adjectives, the attributive functioncan be performed by other parts of speech, and adverbs have a special role among them. A detailed transposition interpretation of these neologisms implies their description in the context of grammatical ambiguity, in particular in the aspect of syntactic shifts and their categorical modifications. Purpose. In Ukrainian studies, the syntactic adjectival transposition of adverbs is described in fragmentary terms; therefore, the purpose of the article is to study the syntactic adjectivization of adverbs and to determine the semantic- syntactic and formal-syntactic features of its explication on the basis of functional-categorical linguistics. Methods. In order to achieve this goal, a descriptive method, a method of contextual-semantic analysis, methods of componential and transposition analysis were used. Results. Adverbs, which are turned into adjectives, perform adverbial-attributive and locative-attributive semantic-syntactic functions. Being in the pre-substantive and postpositive position, these transposites show the features of the noun adverbial association, and they act as uncoordinated attributes, which have contaminated characteristics of adverbial modifier and attribute. They remain unchanged, showing at the same time morphologically unattached adjectival categorization. Discussion. Syntactic adjectivization of adverbs is the initial degree of transposition, which determines the function. Its representatives are the secondary markers of the attributive sphere and contextually motivated, devoid of affixal modifications means of defining the morphological meaning of the adjective. The principles of analysis of adjectively directed unchanged lexemes, which are discussed in the article, are promising for the study of derivatives of morphological degree of transposition.
