Abstrakt: Discusses a study on the significance of liver fatty acid binding protein (L-FABP) for hepatic fatty acid oxidation in vivo and for action of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPAR&alpha) under fasting condition. Reduction in long chain fatty acid oxidation and ketogenesis in L-FABP null liver; Capacities for long chain fatty acid oxidation and ketogenesis in L-FABP null liver; Hepatic expression of PPARα target genes in fasting L-FABP null mice; Conclusions of the study.
