Analysis of transport phenomena and mechanical behavior in capillary-porous colloidal materials subjected to convective drying.

Abstrakt: The coupled transport phenomena and mechanical processes in capillary-porous colloidal materials at convective drying and ways for their investigations by finite element method are discussed. Conceptions for investigations of such processes in industrial dryers by modelling and numerical simulation are presented. They are based on experimentally obtained physical properties and mechanical parameters of wet raw material for ceramic production, and additional information about the drying regime. The models are applied for structural -diffusion finite element analysis of the transient moisture content, stress and strain fields in the ceramic articles in a continuous industrial dryer.
