Coal mining carried out in an underground coal mine by means of a longwall complex is based on a powered roof support which is an essential element of the whole mining process. Its main task is to secure the excavation against falling roof rocks and the dynamic impact of the rock mass. The roof support is protected against dynamic damage. This paper presents operational data and knowledge gained through the use of active monitoring enabling the measurement of real-time pressure in the legs of the powered roof support sections used in the longwalls in the coal mine of Polska Grupa Górnicza S.A. Elements of the system were presented and discussed with particular regard to the parameters of the components included in the system and the necessary technical requirements. In addition, the paper presents the applied system software for the configuration and visualization of data, as well as detailed data indicating the course of pressure in powered support sections, recorded during measurements. The analysed measurements related to the hydraulic leg of the powered roof support determine the operational safety of the entire mining complex. The analysis of the presented data is based on the obtained measurements of the monitoring of the powered roof support sections. The data includes basic operating parameters of the support section, such as pressure values in the legs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
