The article offers information on the U.S. federal spending on benefits and services for people with low income from fiscal year 2008 to fiscal year 2018. Topics include increase in federal spending on people with low income that were largely driven by spending on health care; increase in cash aid, food assistance, housing and development, education, social services, employment and training, and energy assistance; and spending through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and others. |
