Abstrakt: Inclusive education brings about normal and special children under the same roof thereby promoting the social wellbeing of children with special health care needs. As pediatric dentists, it is essential to understand the attitude of schoolgoing children towards their peers, especially those with special health care needs so as to ensure quality health care delivery in the same environment to both the groups of children. This study was conducted in an attempt to analyse the awareness and attitude of children of different age groups, towards their peers with disabilities studying in the same government school in the city of Mangaluru, Karnataka, India. The results indicated a better acceptance of children with SHCN by their peers. Harnessing this indiscriminate attitude among SG children will not only help improve the quality of life of children with SHCN, but also lead to improvement in moral behaviour and conduct of SG children, instilling compassion and empathy in them.
