The article presents information on treatment of patients allergic to house dust mites. In the treatment of patients allergic to house dust mites two different principles can be applied; symptomatic or specific treatment. The symptomatic treatment includes medicamental treatment and the elimination of now specific irritants, while specific treatment includes elimination of allergens and immunotherapy. In case of bronchial asthma, the purpose of therapy is to keep patients free of symptoms and provide normal lung functioning. It is important neither to undertreat nor overtreat and this means variable and individual pharmacotherapy. |
