The study aims to provide a brief introduction to the theoretical and methodological aspects of the French School of Geopolitics, mainly represented by Yves Lacoste and his disciples, grouped especially around the Hérodote magazine. We will insist on some key concepts specific to French geopolitics: power rivalries, representations, territories, borders, which help us to understand the explanatory and analytical approaches of a discipline that has the ambition to provide an epistemologically pertinent comprehension on the main dynamics of the contemporary world.
