Abstrakt: Primary leiomyosarcoma of inferior vena cava is a rare retroperitoneal solid tumor. This type of tumor is more often seen in older women. Herein, we present a 50 years old gentleman who was incidentally found to have a large mass in abdomen via ultrasound while he was being investigated for non-specific abdominal discomfort. Computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a retroperitoneal tumour which was arising from the Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) and the tumour was successfully excised via open surgery. The histopathology examination revealed the 10x10x8 cm mass to be grade 1 leiomyosarcoma. The clinical course and intraoperative finding of this man with a rare malignant IVC tumor are reported.
