Abstrakt: Action research provides teachers with the data needed to make informed decisions to benefit their students and improve their own classroom practice. Through action research, teachers can investigate their natural world-classroom instruction-to determine what is and is not resulting in learning gains for their students. As another example of the practicality of conducting and understanding research for science teachers, consider the case of Mr. Nolan, a young chemistry teacher.
