The article offers information on use of the clinical examination in the diagnosis of cardiac syncope. Topics discussed include association of l historical factors with an increased likelihood of cardiac syncope including age at first syncopal episode 35 years or older; importance of accurate diagnosis of cardiac syncope to determining an appropriate plan of care; and use of cardiac biomarkers such as troponin for diagnosis. |
