The issue of participation of the peasants of Ukraine in the national liberation struggle of the Ukrainian people against the Nazi and Soviet occupation regimes during the years of the German- Soviet war is covered. Reveal the role of the OUN and the UPA command in involving them, in particular in Western Ukraine, is manifested in the underground movement of the OUN and the ranks of the rebel army, as well as in organizing the self-defense of the rural population and their role in providing the insurgents with everything necessary to fight the enemies. It is justified proved that the peasants formed the social and personnel basis of the national liberation movement of the people, in which their desire for freedom, preservation of national identity and revival of a single, independent Ukrainian state are clearly manifested.
