Having used a large number of published documentary sources, having analyzed their content block, the author of the publication establishes their heuristic potential in the context of studying the social status of the local population that was in system of Hitler’s “new order” established in the territory of the RKU. Reconstruction of these aspects of the past makes it possible to clarify in more detail the conditions and problems of the formation of historical memory of the Second World War and the Nazi occupation regime, which functioned on the territory of our Motherland in 1941-1944. The author of the publication asserts that the content of the periodicals published in Soviet times and in the modern period is characterized by tendentiousness and was tasked with depicting exclusively a black and white, unipolar vision of this unambiguously tragic historical period. Due to the attention of the authors of these collections, problems of the social status of representatives of the local society, their daily life, relations with representatives of the services and institutions of the RKU remained.
