This study takes "Zhihu", a Chinese social Question & Answer Community, as the research data source. Web crawler technology based on Python programming language is adopted to retrieve and collect the textual data of BIM-related questions from the social Question & Answer Community. High-frequency words in the BIM-related questions are extracted by textual mining method. These words are further used to group the BIM-related questions into four categories: "Industrial transformation", "BIM-related technology", "BIM development and application" and "BIM-related professionals and skills". Moreover, concerns relevant to the state-of-art and the impact of BIM technology are investigated by analyzing the hot BIM-related topics from the perspective of "Zhihu" social Question & Answer Community.
