Abstrakt: Fluid balance monitoring is an essential part of caring critically ill patients. Human body cannot function properly when there is inadequate electrolyte and water in their cells. Increase or decrease of electrolyte which is present in the human body can lead to various disease conditions. Electrolyte balance is helpful to the human being to maintain their blood chemistry and muscle function. Objective: Assessment on knowledge and practice of fluid and electrolyte administration among staff nurses. Materials and Method: Knowledge questionnaire and observation checklist regarding fluid and electrolyte administration. Result: The mean percentage of the knowledge scores and practice scores among staff nurses were 50.41% and 63% respectively. There was weak positive uphill correlation between knowledge and practice among staff nurses (r=.194). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
