The article reports on accelerated test for evaluating the tracking resistance of rubber and plastic insulation wires and breakdown phenomenon. Most organic insulation materials under wet and polluted conditions cause carbonized aging, and finally lead to tracking breakdown. It is important to study the characteristics leading to tracking breakdown so that a material suitable for each environmental condition can be chosen. To establish an accelerated test method for tracking resistance of insulation wires, improvement of the earth electrode in the tracking resistance test method [2] is proposed in this article. |
