The natural background of hazardous processes and phenomena in the Skole Beskyds National Park, Ukraine are characterized using the Rybnik Majdansky river basin covering 25% of the park’s area. The spatial regularities of floods, coastal erosion, earth flows, landslides, avalanches, and windbreaks are shown. On the basis data from Maidan hydrological station the dynamics of thunderstorms for the period from 2002 to 2012 is analyzed as well as the set of hydrological parameters for the Rybnik Majdansky experimental basin were calculated. The estimates were used to find the time intervals (years and months) of the highest activity of hazardous hydro-meteorological processes and events. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
