An architecture for material modeling in non-linear dynamic analysis programs is described that allows complex material models to be developed and rigorously examined independently of the codes or solvers in which they are to be used. Object-oriented architecture permits the package to be used independent of any specific code structure, allowing a separate driver program to apply a variety of load conditions, thereby offering a rigorous examination of model response prior to application in large simulations. The driver also allows model coefficients to be optimized (fitted) automatically to experimental data. Owing to its modular structure, the package can easily be interface to a variety of codes / solvers. © 2004 American Institute of Physics [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
