Hyperglycemia associated with pregnancy has been related to several unfavorable perinatal outcomes, as well as to the increase of incidence on future complications. Thus, the diagnosis of hyperglycemia in the pregnancy-puerperal context should be a global health concern. This article presents the development of a mobile application prototype which informs, imparts accurate diagnosis and provides tools for obstetric telemonitoring in women with pregnancy associated diabetes. After detailed analysis of the proposals for a new diagnostic strategy considering possible scarcity of resources, key elements were selected and inserted into the prototype, in order to cater for the most aspects and make it as thorough as possible. The application has been adapted to the Brazilian reality, however, having adjustments in compliance with international protocols, it has the potential to be used worldwide. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
