Abstrakt: Buffaloes (n=36) confirmed positive for endometritis via alkaline pH of cervico-vaginal mucus (CVM), White side test and increased PMN cell count in endometrial cytology were selected for study and divided into three groups. Group-I included fresh endometritic buffaloes (repeated 3-7 times), Group-ll consisted of chronic endometritic buffaloes (repeated >7 times) and Group-Ill buffaloes were kept untreated as control. Both Group-I and II were treated with 100 meg E. coli LPS in 30 ml PBS by intrauterine route whe.. control buffaloes were infused with 30 ml PBS as placebo. Post treatment, the CVM samples of consecutive estrus were evaluated and found to be differing significantly (p<0.01) in pH, White side test and PMN cell count in recovered cases. Recovery rate and pregnancy rate were recorded as 91.66, 83.33 and 81.81, 70.00 percent in Group-I and Group-ll, respectively as against nil in control group. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
