In this paper, high performance slump-retaining type polycarboxylate superplasticizer (EBT-01) was synthesized by using the new polyether, acrylic acid, slump-protecting small monomer, L-ascorbic acid, hydrogen peroxide, and thioglycolic acid as the main raw materials under normal temperature conditions. The new polyether (EPEG) has the advantages of high activity, good performance and stability of the synthesized product by comparison with a lanthanum -type polycarboxylate superplasticizer synthesized by using different ethers. The cement paste fluidity and concrete test results show that the optimal synthesis process parameters are: at room temperature, the ratio of acid to ether is 2.5, the ratio of ester to ether is 3.0, and the amount of initiator and chain transfer agent is 0.28% and 0.45% of total monomer mass respectively, the dropping time is 1 h and the insulation time is 0.5h. The EBT-01 is compounded with the universal high performance polycarboxylate superplasticizer (PC-01) at the ratio of m(EBT-01):m(PC-01)=4:6, the 2 h slump of concrete measured at this time has basically no loss.
