Having used a wide group of archival documents and analyzing special historical literature, the author of the publication examines the organizational and legal competences of German and local police forces that were created in the territory of the Reichskommissariat «Ukraine». Reconstruction of these aspects of the historical past allows us to examine in more detail the goals and objectives of the occupation policy pursued by the administration of the RKU in relation to the local Ukrainian society. The author of the publication argues that the main stake in the infl uence on the local society by the occupation administration of the RKU was assigned solely to force, repressive and punitive measures. The main instrument of this infl uence was the civilian gendarmerie and the local police of the RKU. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
