It is opined that for SDD in childhood, long term care and observation should be performed. In this regard a case study of a 9 year old Japanese boy has been presented in this article. It is informed that hypertonic changes of the collagen fibers in both the dermis and fascia are observed in patients suffering from SDD. With regard to elastic fibers in SDD, morphologic abnormalities such as thickening, clumping and fragmentation has been reported by light and electron microscopic studies.
