Heavy metals from industrial wastes and emissions can impair the quality of food products. The concentration of heavy metals in meat and milk samples from the different zones (Central, West and East zones) of Orenburg region is determined. The highest level of Cr, Cr and Pb were determined in meat samples from Central zone, where Zn concentration was highest in West zone. Only the content of Pb with 2.9 mg/kg in West zone and 6.45 mg/kg were much higher the permissible level of 0.5 mg/kg. Milk samples from Central Zone had more content of Cu, Cr, B, Md, Ba and Al comparing with samples from East and West zones. Pb and Sr concentrations were higher in milk samples from East zone, whereas Zn content higher in milk samples from West zone. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
