Feeding experiment was conducted to evaluate the growth performance of striped catfish, Pangasianodon hypophthalmus with different immunostimulant incorporated diets. A total of four practical diets consisting of brewer's yeast 10 g (F1), L-ascorbic acid 1000 mg (F2), a-tocopherol 80 mg (F3) and ginger 10 g (F4) per kg of diet were incorporated maintaining a crude protein level of around 32% at par with a commercial feed and it was taken as control (F0) diet. Juvenile fishes were fed @ 5% of their body weight twice daily. Growth performance was evaluated on the basis of weight gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR) and specific growth rate (SGR) at the end of experimental duration of 90 days. Results showed that the fishes fed ginger incorporated diet had a significant increase in weight gain, FCR and SGR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
