A 60-year-old African-American man was admitted to the East Orange VA Medical Center with a widespread eruption of 2 weeks duration. He complained also of fever, chills, and pruritus. The patient had no previous history of drug ingestion, psoriasis, neurodermatitis, pityriasis rubra pilaris, seborrheic dermatitis, malignant lymphoma, mycosis fungoides, leukemia, or Sezary's syndrome. The consideration of toxoplasmosis in the differential diagnosis of a patient with a skin rash, lymphadenopathy, lever, and eosinophilia has been understated. |
