Abstrakt: The article presents information about congenital nevomelanocytic nevi (CNN). Most CNN are small, however, on occasion they may be quite extensive. CNN are pigmented lesions that are present at birth or arise shortly thereafter. Such lesions may be documented by photographs, hospital nursery records, or parental statements. Garment nevus, giant mole, bathing-trunk nevus, and hairy nevus all refer to large congenital nevi. As a rule CNN are of greater size than acquired nevi and their nevus cells extend deeper into the dermis.
