Jointed surrounding rock mass environment is often formed under seafloor sedimentary conditions. Since the mechanical properties of joints are important to control the stability of rock masses, the peak shear strength for the joints has always been the focus of relevant research. In this paper, artificially prepared jointed rock masses with different joint surface characteristic were used to perform multiple shear tests to obtain corresponding shear strength data. The research results showed that there were obvious relations between the shear strength of the joint surface morphology. With the increase of shear times, the maximum undulating angle and the roughness of the joint contour decreased and the shear strength decreased correspondingly. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
