Abstrakt: The article presents a critical analysis of female archetypes in the works of English author J.R.R. Tolkien and Greek author Euripides. Topics discussed include the character of Lúthien in Tolkien's novel "The Silmarillion" and female protagonist Alcestis in Euripides’ tragedy "Alcestis," definition of the beauty of Lúthien and Alcestis and their separation from family, and traits of the archetype in Lúthien.
