In the article, on the basis of extracts of parish registers and other statistical-accounting and statistical-descriptive sources, I studied features of the natural population of the village Yaroslavka (now - Chernihiv region) in the second half of the XVIII century. In order to obtain reliable information, I used methods of historical demography and quantitative history, tested by native and European historians. Also I made comparisons with other settlements of the region. As a result, concrete data about the type of population growth, the total number of residents of the village Yaroslavka, local birth rates, marriages, deaths, and the number of clergy were obtained. The subject matter of the article has a wide potential for further research, both purely in the study of historical demography and the study of regional areas, and in general for the study of Ukrainian history in the 18 century.
