| Abstrakt: | The article explores the global travels of Vanuatu-based artist Aloï Pilioko and his French-Russian partner, the late artist Nicolaï Michoutouchkine and how it shaped their collecting, exhibiting and making Oceanic art all over the world. Topics covered include how Michoutouchkine's experience of the 1917 Communist revolution and as a teenager in Nazi-occupied France influenced his life as a traveler, and how their travel to Futuna Islands was a turning point for both of them. |
