Abstrakt: |
The electronic structure and magnetic properties of rare earth based quaternary LaCoCrAl alloy at different pressures ranging from 0 GPa to 30 GPa using First principles approach is reported. The electronic band profile and density of states with increase in pressures display a transition from half-metallic to metallic nature. The half-metallicity of the compound can be maintained at zero pressure. The magnetic moment shows a decreasing trend with pressure due to which half-metallicity also vanishes. The material shows an indirect band gap of 0.53 eV at 0 GPa of pressure with optimized lattice parameter of 6.59 Å. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
