Having used a wide group of archival documents and analyzing the special historical literature, the author of the publication establishes an insurance system that was created on the territory of the Reichskommissariat «Ukraine». The reconstruction of the insurance system made it possible to clarify in more detail the purpose and tasks of the occupation policy pursued by the administration of the CGS with respect to the local Ukrainian society. The author of the publication argues that one of the ways to increase the size of tax payments from the local population was the insurance system, through which the administration of the RKU was replenishing local budgets.
