Abstrakt: | The article discusses the reception of the poetry of American poet Emily Dickinson in Norway. Topics discussed include Dickinson's use of Norway as a metaphor for cold and snow, works of Sigmund Skard who is recognized as the father of American Studies in Norway, Norman Foerster's book "American Poetry and Prose," Inger Hagerup as one of the earliest of Dickinson’s translators, and literary critic Margit Abenius' article as a reminder of overlapping in Swedish and Norwegian cultures. |
