Research on preparation and properties of viscosity-reducing polycarboxylate type superplasticizer.

Abstrakt: In this paper, a low viscosity polycarboxylate type superplasticizer was developed to solve the problems of high viscosity of cement, slow flow rate and difficulty of pumping under low water cement ratio conditions of high-grade concrete. The effects of the molar ratio of ether to ether, methyl methacrylate, initiator and chain transfer agent on the dispersibility and viscosity reduction of superplasticizer were discussed. The results show that the superplasticizer has the excellent dispersion and retention performance when the molar ratio of ether to ether was 3.25, the methyl methacrylate, initiator and chain transfer agent were 2.0%- 0.75% and 0.49% respectively. And the mixed concrete showed soft-fast flow. Compared with the product commercially available, the synthesized products can reduce the viscosity of high grade concrete significantly.
