Abstrakt: Atrial fibrillation (AF) during pregnancy is a rare phenomenon. In most reported cases, it is attributed to pre-existing rheumatic heart disease, hyperthyroidism or structural heart abnormalities. AF in the absence of structural heart defects is termed ‘lone AF' (Sengheiser and Channer 2011). Our literature search revealed only ten reported cases of lone, new onset AF in pregnancy without a pre-existing insult, and even fewer cases where the report is of isolated, non-drug induced lone AF.
