Portable Machine to Machine System for Monitoring Temperature and Flammable Gas of Outdoor Environment.

Abstrakt: This paper discusses the development and experimentation process of portable environment monitoring systems, which involve temperature, air pressure and detecting the presence of flammable gas. The main objective of the published works is to measure the performance of the machine to machine system for monitoring process from sensing to transmission and data storing. The system was developed based on BMP sensor, MQ-2 gas sensor, Arduino Nano, 433 MHz telemetry module kit as wireless data transmission and computer for displaying and storing the measured data. The resulted hardware circuit was placed into the box plastic size 10 cm x 7.5 cm x 3.5 cm with total weight was around 500 g so that it could be transported handy and securely. The validity test results showed that the system had 6% and 2.43% difference when measuring temperature and air pressure, respectively, in comparison to those resulted by commercial instrument. In the experiment, the developed system was able to detect the presence of flammable gas in the region of 60 cm, maximally, from the leakage point in outdoor environment. The developed system also was tested by carrying it using a drone in the park to detect the flammable gas, in which the results showed that the wireless data transmission still worked well in the range of 50 m to transmit the measurement data from the system to the computer which served as data centre. Essentially, both system and computer are able to store the measured data in *.txt file format, which could be converted into *.xlsx file format. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
