The article presents information on a symposium on the question whether the protestant church had lost ground in endeavoring to make itself a social and sociological force. Church ministers are very rarely trained to expert knowledge or to sound judgment about social problems. They ought to be, but they are not. They are apt to speak upon such problems without adequate acquaintance with the subject and thereby to bring themselves and the cause which they represent into deserved ridicule and reproach. |
