Aim. The goal of this study is to create a theoretical survey of bioethics and moral attitudes to determine the level of knowledge of this subject among healthcare professionals, as well as to conduct a pilot study to establish its applicability to the healthcare population. Method. This study has two phases. In the first phase, we created a survey of bioethicsthat includes three different sections: a survey to assess knowledge of bioethics, another survey with scenarios reflecting moral attitudes, and a final section to collect demographic data from the study population, all created using an expert or Delphi method review with the participation of sixteen experts in the field. The second phase consists of the completion of a pilot study with a total of thirty healthcare professionals and re-testing eight days after the initial phase. Results. A survey with twenty theoretical questions relating to bioethics and fifteen scenarios reflecting moral attitudes was created using the Delphi method. The survey was internally validated by the pilot study. The intraclass correlation coefficient for all the scenarios was between 0.6 and 0.8. Conclusions. A final survey was prepared on the theoretical knowledge of bioethics with fifteen questions and a survey on moral attitudes comprising thirteen scenarios. They were internally validated. The survey obtained may be applied to broad populations of healthcare personnel. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
