| Abstrakt: |
The paper evaluates systemic and local antibody responses reactive with periodontopathogens in rapidly progressive and adult periodontitis patients and compare them with control healthy subjects. Both cellular and humoral responses are involved in periodontitis. Whether these responses serve as protective or destructive mechanisms in the periodontal diseases have not been discerned. It is clear, however, that cells of the B-lymphocyte series are present in periodontal tissues in advanced disease. |
