Phosphonium-based ionic liquids as electrolyte for supercapacitors.

Abstrakt: Over the last several years ionic liquids based on phosphorus salts have been attractive as the subject of many investigations for a myriad of applications in different fields, in particular, in batteries and supercapacitors. We focused on the applications of phosphorous-based ionic liquids as electrolyte for supercapacitors. Conductivity of synthesized tri(tert-butyl)(decyl)phosphonium tetrafluoroborate was studied in carbon paste electrode composite. Cyclic voltammogram was obtained in CH3CN solution. Electrochemical properties, energy data and conductivity make the phosphonium ionic liquids particularly attractive as electrolytes for supercapacitors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
