In this paper, an improved linear quadratic multimodel optimal control approach for two bases with four and eight models is proposed for variable speed and variable pitch wind turbine (operating at high wind speeds) to allow the wind turbines to participate in the regulation of the frequency and this by creating power reserve. This new control structure consisted of an optimal quadratic regulator combined with integral action and a reference model on the outputs. A 2MW wind turbine is considered in order to illustrate the good performances brought by the proposed approach while presenting and discussing the simulation results. These results show better performance for the control strategy developed with the multimodel base of the 8 models compared to the multimodel base of the 4 models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
