A new strategy for the synthesis of 5H‐thiazolo[3,2‐a]pyrimidines from KI/K2S2O8 mediated C−S and C−N bond tandem cyclization reaction of enaminones with 3,4‐dihydropyrimidin‐2(1H)‐thiones has been developed. This method features inexpensive catalyst, base free and transition‐metal free with simple procedure, affording the desired products in moderate to excellent yields. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
