Abstrakt: The knowledge of cutting forces can be a key was to evaluate the machinability of a material due to the fact that the cutting forces have a direct influence on the accuracy of the workpiece, quality of machined surface, generation of heat and tool wear. This work presents a study of dry and near dry turning processes of AISI 316L stainless steel. The aim is to analyze the influence of the cutting parameters (feed rate, spindle speed, depth of cut and cooling-lubricating conditions) on the cutting forces and cutting power. It can be concluded that the cutting component of the forces (Fc), specific cutting speed and cutting power are sensitive to the variations of the cutting conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
