Values of the molecular constants of YCl3 and Y2Cl6 molecules are selected and their thermodynamic functions are calculated as a result of a critical analysis of the experimental and theoretical data on the structure and vibrational frequencies of the monomeric and dimeric forms of yttrium trichloride. The composition of yttrium trichloride vapor in the temperature range of 1317–1646 K is calculated, for which published data on the total pressure are available. It is found that the Pd/Pm vapor pressure ratio in this temperature range grows from 0.15 to 0.21. Values of the enthalpy of sublimation (in the form of monomeric and dimeric molecules) and the enthalpy of formation of YCl3(g) and Y2Cl6(g) are calculated using the obtained partial pressures. The determined values are entered into the database of the IVTANTERMO software package. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
