Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphates (KDP) crystal has been studied since near the beginning 1930s.Nonlinear optic (NLO) is a new leading edge of science and technology playing a major role in the emerging epoch of photonics. Photonics involves the application of photons for information and image processing and is branded to be the technology of the 21st century wherein nonlinear optical processes have applications in the essential functions such as the electrooptic modulator, Q-switches, the ultrasonic transducer, the shutter for high-speed photography, frequency doubling and high power laser frequency conversion for fusion research. In reply to these applications, the elevated quality KDP single crystals are required. In this study, the KDP single crystals were grown by three method that is Conventional, Rotation and Sankaranarayanan-Ramasamy (SR) method. The crystal grown by Rotation and SR method has better quality, smaller amount defects, higher hardness and density, and SR method grown crystal have Higher NLO property. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
