Abstrakt: The article focuses on the International Chamber Music Festival held at Salzburg, Austria. It is preliminary to its regular Mozart celebration. Fifteen countries were covered in the festival and there were about fifty-eight names on the program. A young Serbian composer and pianist, Rudolf Réti, conceived the idea of utilizing this general musical impulse for the broader purpose of bringing together the creative musicians of all nations for an exchange of ideas and at the same time helping the critics and the public to a more comprehensive understanding of modern musical thought and its tendencies.
